respected performance transmissions
Bob Grant, like many kids of his era experienced his first "performance" transmission with the installation of a shift kit into one of his first cars. Notably a classic 1970, 318 Charger with a 904 Torqueflite that was put through its paces on the much loved Surfers Paradise drag strip.
Bob and his industry mates have been involved in the breaking and re-breaking of various records at Meet, Track, State, Class and National levels and was an integral part of Shane Bowdens 1979 A/Street class, 351ci Falcons record breaking 12.45 ET. Running one of BGA's performance transmissions, Shane's 351 Falcon was part of a defining moment for performance automatic transmissions in Australia.
Over the past 40 years Bob spent his days elbow deep in the ongoing development of automatic gearboxes trying all types and variations of gearbox with alternate combinations of clutches and bolt-ons. Having followed the development and advances of performance automatics, from their early "slushbox" days through to their current high tech incarnation Bob and the team at BGA bring years of expertise to every automatic transmission they work on.
Ongoing Development for performance automatics
From those early days power outputs have continually risen, far beyond what we thought possible at that time. The quickening times of road and track cars can be attributed to two things. Advancements in technology which happens at an ever increasing rate and the thousands of hours spent in the garage developing new combinations and techniques for creating the best in performance.
Automatic transmission and torque converter development has continually improved to keep pace and inevitably will continue to do so.
The team at BGA, have continually accepted these challenges and have sourced or produced the best parts & technology to help their customers toward the winners podium. For everything for all performance automatics from advice to low et's speak to the BGA team today.
